God Our Safe Place and Refuge

Posted on

Safety and security is found in Christ alone who is our safe place; our shelter, our hiding place and our refuge from the storms of life. In Him we are safe, we are hidden and we are protected. It is only when we have received Jesus into our lives and walk closely in fellowship with Him, that we can find true rest for our souls. Everlasting peace and joy!

I painted the fawn lying soundly in the grass to convey a safe place had been found to sleep - free from any harm, this fawn is able to lie down in peace and sleep.

With Jesus, we can always feel at peace when we trust Him and we can lie down safely in peace just like the young fawn. He is the good shepherd of our souls and is able to keep us safe from harm.

There are a few verses in the Bible that relate to sleep;

Psalm 4:8 says, "I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; For You alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety."

'When you lie down, you will not be afraid; Yes, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet' ~ Proverbs 3:24

'I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the LORD sustained me' ~ Psalm 3:5

'It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so He gives His beloved sleep' ~ Psalm 127:2
