Jesus told His disciples that the bread represents His body broken for us and the wine represents His blood shed for us, poured out for the forgiveness of sins. 

Jesus died on a cross for our sins. He freely gave Himself for you and I to save us from the penalty of our sins. The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Through receiving Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, we are forgiven of our sin and we are made right with God and reconciled back to Him through the blood of Christ. Jesus rose again on the third day in victory, defeating death. He is our triumphunt King.

By having communion, taking the bread and cup, we remember what Jesus did for us and accomplished on the cross. My painting is a reminder to remember what Jesus has done for you and I.
